The Long Island Daylily Society would like to announce that Judy Ogden, of Ogden’s Design and Plantings, Inc., will be the speaker at our meeting on October 24, 2015. Besides doing award winning landscape design, Judy runs an organic nursery, Nissequogue Farm in St. James, growing specimen plant material. Ms. Ogden has been a guest on HGTV’s “Dear Genevieve”, taught at New York Botanical Gardens, Bayard Cutting Arboretum and the Cornell Cooperative Extension, and lectured at many horticultural events as well as being a guest on radio and television.
The program she is presenting is entitled “Native Plants of Long Island” and will focus on trees and shrubs that are native to our region that will enhance our gardens while attracting and supporting local wildlife. You can learn more about Judy at: http://www.ogdens.com.
The meeting is at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 24 in the Main Greenhouse at Planting Fields Arboretum, 1395 Planting Fields Road, Oyster Bay, NY.
