The next meeting of the Long Island Daylily Society is June 22,2013, at the Planting Fields Arboretum Horticulture Conference Center, 1395 Planting Fields Road, Oyster Bay ,NY 11771. Admission free with parking paid at gate $8.00. Open to public.

1:00 PM Seminars Preparing for the July 7, 2013, Daylily Flower Show  "Garden of Dreams":

Mary Ann Robinowitz belongs to the New York Tachibana of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America.  She has been studying Ikebana for twenty five years and is a certified Professor, Third Class. Her demonstration, using different techniques and vases, will focus on the modern aspects of this ancient JAPANESE ART FORM:  line, surface, mass, color and point.

Elliot Turkiew will present a demonstration on how to groom Dayliles for an accredited American Hemerocallis Society Show.He has been a member of LIDS since 2002 and an Exhibition Judge since 2006. Elliot has clerked here on Long Island as well as judge and has also been requested to judge in Regions 3 and 4. Last summer Elliot added to his Daylily experience and knowledge by becoming an Exhibition Judge Instructor.
